Cross Constellation is an independent software company.

We build and operate our own products. Each one began with a problem we hit while doing the work — waiting on data we should already have had, publishing links with nowhere canonical to put them, trying to explain pricing that was clear in our heads and nowhere else.

The products stay independent. They have their own names, their own identities, their own domains and their own audiences, and they are sold on their own merits. What they share is a maker and a point of view, and a set of genuine relationships that we publish rather than assert.

This site exists so that the relationships are a matter of record instead of inference. If you want to know who built one of these products, why, or how it is used, the answer should be here — with something to point at.

Independent products only look like a body of work once you can see how they connect. A constellation is exactly that: separate points of light, and the lines somebody drew between them. The points came first and they stand on their own.

Cross is where those lines actually meet — the places one product genuinely uses another. Both halves of the name are doing work. Take the crossings away and it is just a list.
